Susan Sliney Ohrenberger

On July 5, 2024, Susan Sliney Ohrenberger was welcomed into the gates of heaven. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Henry W Ohrenberger originally of Milton, also by her children, Theresa Ann and George K. Laham of Westwood, Henry W. Ill and his late wife Sara Ohrenberger of Broussard LA, and Michael Francis Ohrenberger of Framingham and her grandchildren, Susan, Khalil, and Rosemary Laham. Susan’s spirit was alive and vibrant until her last day, unfortunately her heart was not.

Susan was born in 1948 in Lowell to the late Robert E. and Theresa (Hickey) Sliney. Susan moved with her family to Framingham in 1956. She graduated from Marian High School in 1966 and would then attend Quinsigamond Community College and graduated in 1968. She would go on to attend Framingham Union Nursing School. She would start her career at Cushion State Hospital and later M. work on the Postpartum care at Framingham Union hospital in 1976 until 2008 when it was known as MetroWest Medical Center. Between that time, she married Henry in October of 1978. In 2009 Susan would work with the Framingham Public Schools in a variety of roles in the nursing department. Susan’s next professional journey would take her to work for Walnut Hill School in 2019 again supporting students in the health services department. There were many other originations that Susan was active in from school PTO at St. Bridget, Marian High School, Framingham High School Booster Club, and being an active member of the Framingham Pollster. After retirement Susan and Henry enjoyed traveling. Mostly tryout a variety of cruise ship adventures to a variety of destinations.

Susan is the dear sister of Robert E and Molly Sliney of Medfield, Deborah and Craig Schreck of Rye Beach New Hampshire, Thomas E and Janice Sliney of Canton Connecticut, and Donna Marie and Briane Cox of Hampton New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews who were all dear to her heart.

Many Friendships that spanned decades, constantly adding more to her inner circle, putting the needs of family and friends above her own. Whether entertaining or out on the town, Susan was the life of the party. Bringing cliff notes and wine to her book club of over 40 years or leading an adventure that often ended with an ice cream.

Susan loved spending long days on Hampton Beach, in her favorite beach chair with book in hand and the company of her friends and family. She was known for being able to say what others were thinking but delivering the message in a way that the recipient felt compelled to answer due to the love and care that the message was delivered.

Deep appreciation to the Baptist ICU as well as the team at Brigham and Women’s Shapiro team and CCU. Your tenderness, and compassion will not be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a time of visitation at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 3-6PM. Her funeral Mass will Monday, July 15, at 11AM. Burial will be private on a later date.
