FRAMINGHAM – Framingham DPW, utility companies, and MassDOT have projects in the City of Framingham this week.

All projects will be conducted in conformance with the health and safety protocols set forth by the Commonwealth and the City of Framingham.

As the situation with COVID-19 is ever-changing, construction schedules are subject to change.

All schedule is weather permitting, too.

Below is what is scheduled for the week of June 1:

Beacon Street/Summer Street Intersection Improvements: Miscellaneous punch list items will be addressed at the intersection of Beacon Street/Summer Street. Expect minor delays.

Beaver Street Bridge
: Bridge work continues. The bridge will be closed to through traffic and pedestrians until Fall 2020. A detour will be in effect at all times.

Brigham Road Sewer Main Replacement: Sewer main installation continues. Brigham Road will be open to residents only.

Cedar Street (from Waverly Street to Winthrop Street) Gas Main Relay – Eversource Gas: Gas main installation continues on Cedar Street from Waverly Street to Winthrop Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Hillcrest and Berkshire Water Main Replacement: The Water Division will begin installing a temporary water bypass in anticipation of water main installation. Hillcrest Road and Berkshire Road will be open to residents and emergency vehicles only.

Marble Street: Prep working for paving continues. Expect minor delays. Final paving is scheduled for Friday, June 5. Marble Street, a portion of Blandin Avenue (near Marble Street), and a portion of Waverly Street (near Marble Street) will be paved. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during paving operations on Waverly Street and Blandin Avenue. Expect delays. Marble Street will be closed to through traffic during paving operations. Please seek an alternate route.

Osmose Utility Citywide Utility Pole Inspections – Verizon
Dig safe paint markings will be noticeable in the public right-of-way near telephone poles throughout the City for Osmose’s Citywide utility pole inspections. Residents that have questions about this project should contact Osmose Utility at (770) 632-6700 or email contactus@osmose.com.

Union Avenue and Pearl Street Utilities:
Sewer main will be installed on Proctor Street. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic. A one-lane alternating traffic pattern will be in effect at times. Expect moderate delays.

Worcester Road Water and Sewer Improvements: Water and sewer work continues from 150 Worcester Road/Route 9 East to the Natick town line and Worcester Road at Walmart. One lane will be closed on Worcester Road/Rt.9 East. Expect delays. Please note this project will temporarily be conducted between the hours of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday, and 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday.
