BROOKLINE – The Framingham High girls outdoor track & field team opened the season on the road yesterday, April 5, against the Warriors of Brookline High.
Brookline won the meet 74-53, but Framingham has two athletes qualify for the state meet in the season opener.
Maggie Spring qualified for the the D1 state meet in the 400-meter hurdles. Abby Desmarais qualified for the state meet in both the 100-meter and 200-meter events, said Coach Chris Collins.
Framingham High’s next meet is on the road. The Flyers will battle the Raiders of Wellesley High on Wednesday, April 12.
The first home meet is on Wednesday, April 26 against rival Natick High at Bowditch Field.

Framingham sprinters finished one-two in the 100-meter race.
Desmarais won the event in 12.1 seconds. Framingham senior Maya Bishop finished second in 12.8 seconds. brookline took third in 13.4 seconds.
Framingham swept the 200-meter race.
Junior Desmarais also won the race in a personal best in 25.4 seconds.
Flyer freshman Ava Lombardo took second in the race in 27.2 seconds, another personal best.
Junior Ella Terranova finished third in 29.2 seconds.
Brookline won the 400-meter race in 63 seconds. Terranova finished second in 65.3 seconds.

Brookline finished one-two in the 800-meter event. Freshman Sasha Lamakina finished third in 2:31.3 minutes. It was a personal best.
The Warriors swept both the one and two-mile events.
Brookline’s Brooklyn Huggins won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.9 seconds.
Framingham sophomore Marie Scanlon captured second place in a personal best time of 17.2 seconds.
Junior Maggie Spring took third in 17.8 seconds.
Framingham’s Spring won the 400-meter hurdles in 70.6 seconds, a personal best time for her. Brookline finished second and third.

Flyer sprinters Madelin Jones, Ava Lombardo, Danielle Mirsky, and Bishop won the 4 by 100 relay in 52.2 seconds.
Framingham’s Lindsay Noah finished second in the shot put. The senior’s throw of 28-feet 11-inches was a personal best.
Brookline’s Gigi McMahon won the discus event with a throw of 66-feet and 6-inches. Framingham junior Emily Richardson took second place with a throw of 62-feet and 6-inches. Brookline also took third place.
Framingham swept the javelin event.

Brookline’s Brooklyn Huggins won the high jump with a leap of 4-feet, 8-inches.
Framingham High junior Tija Dilba took second place with a jump of 4-feet, 6-inches.
Warriors swept the long jump event.
Brookline also won the triple jump event.
