FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High senior Katie Hewlett sang the national anthem to start Sen. Edward Markey’s Town Hall meeting in Framingham today, February 18.
Sen. Markey was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2013, to fill the term of then Secretary of State John Kerry. He was elected to a full 6-year term in 2014. This was the first time he had held a Town Hall meeting in Framingham, since becoming a U.S. Senator.
Markey had been a Congressman since 1976. He had represented Framingham as part of the the 5th Congressional district.
Hewlett, a member of the award-winning Framingham High School Drama Company, is a member of the Class of 2018.
