PHOTO OF THE DAY: Framingham Superintendent Greets Principal On First Day of School

FRAMINGHAM – Today, February 5 is the first day of school for McCarthy Elementary’s new principal.

Framingham Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay Tweeted out this photo of Principal Jennifer Y. Wu and himself this morning.

Wu was an assistant principal at the Hood School in Lynn, before she was hired by the Framingham Public Schools. Tremblay announced her hiring on January 2.

Framingham Assistant Superintendent of Schools Frank Tiano had been serving as interim principal since the start of the 2017-18 school year.

McCarthy principal Matt Hanlon resigned at the end of the 2016-17 school year.

The first search to replace Hanlon resulted in a failed search.

McCarthy Elementary is one of nine elementary schools in Framingham. It is a K-5 school with about 600 students.
