FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Homework Center announced the winners of its 4th annual essay contest tonight at the main Framingham Library.
The theme of this year’s essay for middle and high school students wasto identify three issues the first Mayor of the City of Framingham should make a priority.
There were 50 essays submitted this year, said Homework Center Director Judy Gatlin.
The committee that blindly judged the essays couldn’tselect just one middle school winner, so named two winners. They were Fuller Middle School grade 8 student Michael Najarian III and Cameron Middle School grade 6 student Anna DeBonis.
The high school winner was Framingham High junior Isabella Petroni.
Mayor Yvonne Spicer attended the reception and listened as each teen read their essay to the crowd.
Framingham Source will publish each of the three winning essays this week.
The Mayor was given a book of all 50 essays by Framingham Homework Center Youth Advisory Board members Hannah and Adam Levine.
This is the seventh year of the Framingham Homework Center.
