5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Friday, January 12

1  Today is the start of a 3-day holiday weekend. Framingham Public Schools will be closed on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Framingham High students will start mid term exams next week, and will be dismissed early.

 

 

2. The Class of 2020 at Framingham High is having a fundraiser today at Uno’s on Route 9 in Framingham. A portion of take out and dine in sales will go to the sophomore class.

 

 

3.  FLYERS in action:

  • Framingham High boys swim & dive team has its home opener today at Keefe Technical at 5 p.m. against Xaverian High. The boys are undefeated at 3-0, having won last night against Brookline High.
  • Framingham High girls basketball will travel to Wellesley for a game at 6;30 p.m.

 

MUSTANGS in action:

  • Boys basketball has an away game against Lowell Catholic.
  • Girls basketball will host Matignon High at Marian High’s gym.

 

4. Travelin’ Bones BBQ food truck out of Worcester will be at Exhibit A Brewing in Framingham from 5 to 9 tonight. The Squires of Soul will perform live at the brewing company from 7 to 9 p.m.

 

5. The Framingham main Libarry will host a free screening of the movie Dunkirk tonight at 7 in the Costin room. The screening was rescheduled from last Friday, January 5, due to the snow storm.

Christopher Nolan directs this WWII thriller about the evacuation of Allied troops from the French city of Dunkirk before Nazi forces can take hold. Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance co-star. Refreshments will be served. Doors will be open on the Lexington Street side of the library only from 6:30-7:15 p.m. The film is rated PG-13.
