SOURCE STORM CENTRAL: Framingham Schools, City Offices Closed Thursday, January 4

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools already called its first snow day of the 2017-18 season for Thursday, and now the City of Framingham announced just after 5:30 p.m. that all City of Framingham Municipal Buildings will be closed on Thursday, January 4.

Those City buildings include. Memorial Building, Framingham Public Libraries, Loring Arena, the Callahan Center and the Parks and Recreation facilities. All non-essential employees has been asked to not to report to work on Thursday.

Trash and recycling collection has been on a holiday schedule this week, but due to inclement weather, the City is delaying collection by an additional day.

So, if your regular pickup day is Wednesday, for example, it will be picked up Friday. If your regularly scheduled pickup day is Friday, it’ll be picked up Sunday.

The Christa McAuliffe Charter School, Saint Bridget School, Marian High School, and Keefe Technical High also will be closed on Thursday. Framingham State and Massbay Community College have also announced closures for Thursday.

Mayor Yvonne Spicer, told Framingham Source, at the Framingham School Committee meeting she will be at DPW’s headquarters in the snow operation center sometime on Thursday, and may stop by the MEMA bunker on Route 9.

The Mayor ordered a parking ban through 8 a.m. on Friday.
