Charlotte Therese Valera Leach, 75, Framingham Union Hospital Nurse

FRAMINGHAM – Charlotte Therese Valera Leach, 75, of Stuart, Florida died from a brief illness on December 7, 2017.

Born in Framingham on March 31, 1942, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Valera.

She was the loving mother of her son Terence, son Todd and his wife Leah, and daughter Kristen and her husband Joseph Hicks. She was very proud of her grandchildren Megan Brooke, Samantha, Lauren, Charles, Diana, Jesse, Kayla, and Angelo. She also leaves behind so many dear friends and family who she loved and cared about deeply.

She graduated from Framingham High in 1959.

She then graduated from Framingham School of Nursing in 1980 to become a nurse – her life long dream.

She worked at Framingham Union Hospital for many years.

She later became a cruise ship nurse with Royal Caribbean International. She continued her career in nursing in the emergency room at Martin Memorial Health Care in Stuart, Florida.

Nursing opened a whole wonderful world for her and she enjoyed it until her retirement in 2015.

She loved traveling, cooking-entertaining the warm sun on her face and at the top of the list she loved a good movie.

There will be a celebration of her life at the Framingham Elks at 450 Union Avenue on Monday, Dec 18 at  noon.

All her family and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers donations came be made to The St. Jude’s Foundation.
