5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, December 12

1 There will be a lighting of a 10-foot menorah on the Framingham Centre Common, to mark the first night of the Jewish holiday at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

 

 

2. Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building.

 

 

3.   FLYERS in action:

  • Tonight is the home opener for the Framingham High boys basketball program. Tip off against Weymouth at 6:30 p.m.
  • Girls basketball has a scrimmage tonight against Belmont at 5:45  on the road.

 

 

 

4. MUSTANGS in action:

  • Boys basketball travels to St. Joe’s for a game this afternoon at 6:30 p.m.
  • Marian High girls basketball hosts St. Joe’s Prep at 6:30 p.m.
  • Boys and girls track is scheduled for a meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston

 

 

5.  The Framingham Library is hosting an art workshop tonight at the Christa McAuliffe branch from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Pre-registration is required for the two part workshop, which starts tonight. Attendees most attend both sessions of the 3 Mediums Demonstration & Workshop with artist Nan Hass Feldman.

December 12 – Mixed Medium Art Demonstration Nan will show how to work with the Caran D’ache Crayons, oil pastels, and watercolor resist.
December 19 – Mixed Medium Workshop Participants will use materials provided to create a mixed-media work of their own.

Nan Hass Feldman has been painting for more than 40 years. In that time she has had 49 solo exhibitions and has been included in over 50 group shows, and 28 museum exhibitions.
