CVS Agrees To Buy Aetna For $69 Billion

FRAMINGHAM – CVS Health has agreed to purchase Aetna for $69 billion, according to multiple reports.

The deal could transform more than 9,500 CVS brick and mortar stores, including those in Framingham, into community medical centers for primary care.

The pharmacy chain agreed to buy Aetna for about just over $200 a share. The deal likely will not close until 2018.

Aetna has more than 20 million customers.
