FRAMINGHAM – Monday was the deadine to apply for a bib in the 2018 Team Framingham Lottery.
There were 78 applicants, but three individuals withdrew prior to the deadline.
In total, 75 individuals are seeking a 2018 Boston Marathon bib through the Team Framingham program.
Of the 75, applicants 55 applicaions have been verified for residency and or employment with the Town of Framingham. The rest of the applications are in the process of being verified.
The 75 applications in the lottery are the second highest in the five-year history of Team Framingham.
Inthe first year, there were 73 applicants.
In 2015, 60. In 2016, there were 81 applicants and last year there were 73 applicants.
Of the 75 applicants, 13 individuals are previous Team Framingham runners: Scott Pettingell, Joe Kynoch, Jon Marshall, Andrew McDonnell, Diana Linn, Bree Cunningham, Andrew Chester, David Wells , Mark Nickerson, Chris Bogardus, Matt Trostel, Leslie Harvey, and Michelle Kinsella.
On Monday night, December 4, a drawing will be held for the 22 bibs for the 2018 Boston Marathon. The drawing takes place at 7 p.m. in the Ablondi room at the Memorial Building. The public may attend.
There are 22 bibs available and 10 individuals will be ‘wait listed.”
The five charities for whom the runners will be fundraising for will be drawn by random selection the same evening that the runners will be selected.
