WORCESTER – Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced he will seek re-election in 2018.
The announcement should come as no surprise to Republicans nor Democrats.
The Governor and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito are not expected to formally launch their re-election campaign until 2018, according to a report in the Boston Herald.
There are already three Democrats who would like to unseat the Republican Governor.
They are Newton Mayor Setti Warren, Jay Gonzalez and Bob Massie.
Baker, who has shown he can work with Democrats, especially Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, is considered one of the most popular governors in America, according to polls.
His campaign as almost $7 million ready for 2018.
