FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High diver Halia Bower has repeated as the MIAA Division 1 State Champion. She competed yesterday, November 19 at WPI in Worcester.
The Framingham High senior won the event with 533.60 points. She won the 2016 title with 500.70 points.
It was a double win for Bower, as her total of 533.60 points, breaks the Framingham High School record set by NCAA Champion diver, and former Flyer Maura Sticco-Ivins of 510.50 points in 2013.
As a freshman, Bower finished third at the MIAA Division 1 State Championship. As a sophomore, she finished second.
She has been a varsity diver for coach Mike Foley at Framingham High all four years.
In 2016, she was named one of the top 100 divers in the country. The All-American diver, who is a member of the Charles River Diving Team, signed a letter of intent to dive for the University of Alabama, in the SEC in 2018.
