UPDATED: Framingham Social Security Office Evacuated

FRAMINGHAM – The U.S. Social Security office in Framingham was evacuated today, October 17, after an employee in the mailroom opened an envelope that contained a white powdery substance, said Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.

Framingham Police and Framingham Fire responded to the Social Security office at Clark’s Hill Road and designated the powder to be “benign,” said Lt. Grigas.

The 9-1-1 call came in about 1 p.m.
