FOXBOROUGH – It was #WhyNotDevin night at the New England Revolution game on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.

Unfortunately Devin Suau, 6, of Framingham was not feeling well and did not attend. His dad and his three brothers Colin, Owen, Brenden did attend.

Suau was supposed to have signed a one-day contract with the New England Revolution, a professional soccer team, over the weekend.

The Framingham boy is battling DIPG, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, that has no cure, at this time.  He was diagnosed in January after falling off his snowboard. Doctors discovered an inoperable tumor on his brain stem and gave him a life expectancy between eight months and two years.

His family started the hashtag #WHYNOTDEVIN to bring awareness to the disease and the hope that Devin will be the first to defeat it.

The Suau family was invited to take the field for warmups with the team on Saturday.

Suau’s signing was orchestrated as part of the Revolution’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month activities during September.

Last weekend, the community of Framingham held the inaugural Devin’s Dash and raised $50,000 for the Framingham family.
