BOSTON – The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for MetroWest, including Framingham for today, Sept.6.
The watch is in effect through tonight.
Periods of showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected through tonight with pockets of localized torrential rainfall.
Hourly rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will be possible with the strongest storms, which may lead to localized flash flooding if storms train over the same areas.
The main concern at this time if for mainly urban type flash flooding through tonight.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
