The store sells adventure gear, outdoor recreation, fitness apparel and footwear for men, women, and children, camping gear, tailgating equipment, fishing equipment, and more.

Set up for its grand opening, the Framingham store had a few kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, and a even a surfboard for sale.  There was a small section of skateboards, too.

The Framingham store also had one-of-a-kind products, including a chair made out of skis, a swinging tent, and a corn hole game made from skis.

Just like other TJX stores – TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Marshalls – Sierra Trading post will have some every day staple items, but you’ll want to visit often so not to miss one-of-a-kind and special seasonal items.

Sierra Trading Post’s buyers purchase the “best closeouts, overstocks and seconds from the most trusted brands,” to offer “quality outdoor items at incredible savings every single day.”

There was a huge line of yoga and other apparel for men and women, at discounted prices, from several name brands. Prices started at $14.99.

There was also a large selection of athletic and hiking footwear for men, women, and children. For example, there were a pair of Frye cowboy boots for girls at under $60. There was a rainbow of running and cross-training sneakers for men and women.

Although the calendar says August, there was already a display of cold-weather outerwear, including brands like Columbia, Marmot, High Sierra, and others.

Want to go camping? You can get everything off your gear list at Sierra Trading Post. There was a huge display of sleeping bags, fishing rods, and even a section of freeze dried foods, including Kung Pao Chicken. Want to cook over an open camp fire? There were cast iron skillets and pots, too.

If your idea of adventure is spending time with your favorite furry friend, there are aisles of fun pet products for recreation and sleeping.

TJX Companies purchased Sierra Trading Post in 2012. The first Sierra Trading Post opened in Nevada in 1986.

With the grand opening of the Sierra Trading Post and the Homesense on Thursday, that brings the total of TJX Companies stores in Shoppers World to four and the number of TJX Companies stores in Framingham to five.
