She was born September 4, 1931 to the late Vincent and Teresa Del Mastro of Newton.
She married her beloved John S. O’Donnell, also of Newton, on December 27, 1954 and started a family in Falmouth.
Moving to Framingham, there she raised her family, was active with The Friends of the Framingham Library and the school PTA.
She studied English at Framingham State College. Jeanne worked at Wellesley College from 1981-1988.
In her retirement, she lived in Andover, sharing a home with family, made new friends, and enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow up. She took up writing poetry and was proud of her two published books and poetry award. She was an amazing student of life, pianist, opera-lover, Patriots fan, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who had a deep spiritual belief, and placed much importance on family.
She is survived by her sisters Aida Cucci and Marie Hackett, her brother Vincent Del Mastro and his wife Margaret, cousin Michaelina Downey, and Jeanne’s four children, John S. O’Donnell, Jr., Ann T. O’Donnell Cobleigh, Christine M. O’Donnell, Thomas J. O’Donnell, former son-in-law Steven C. Cobleigh, and her beloved granddaughters Rhiannon J. O’Donnell and Olivia J. Cobleigh. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 9 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Road in Framingham.
Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.
