Born in Orange, she was the daughter of the late Edmond & Bessie (Dunican) Prue, and the beloved wife of the late James P. Moriarty.
After growing up in Orange, Elizabeth moved to Worcester where she and her husband raised their three children.
Once the children had grown, she went back to work as a proof reader at Deluxe Printers retiring in 1977.
She later settled in Framingham where she was an active member of the Sudbury Garden Club, Sudbury Grange. Sudbury Women’s Club, and the Senior Citizens of Sudbury. She spent the last 14 years of her life enjoying the weather of Naples, FL.
She is survived by her son, Patrick of Shrewsbury, her daughter, Joan Smith of Naples, FL, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her siblings, Mildred Stearns of Millbury, Ralph Prue of FL, and Eunice Deviou of GA, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband James, she was predeceased by her son James H. in 2006, and several brothers and sisters.
Family and friends will honor and remember Elizabeth’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham on Monday, July 17 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephen’s Church, 221 Concord St. Framingham, on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
Entombment will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery.
