LANCASTER – Authorities are reporting a Framingham man was killed in a crash in Lancaster today, July 6, near the entrance to Kimball Farm on Route 70.
The 3-vehicle crash closed the road in both directions for several hours. The crash happened at 1:45 p.m.
The driver of a Honda had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to Leominster Hospital.
Lancaster Police later reported he died.
Harold E. Johnson, 90, of 16 Neville Road of Framingham was killed in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
According to Police, an Ashburnham woman was driving a white Toyota south on Route 70 and stopped to turn into Kimball Farm. Johnson, who was riving a Honda, rear-ended the Toyota.
His vehicle then moved into the northbound lane, and was struck by a black pick-up truck driven by a Shirley man.
The truck hit the Honda at the speed limit of the road, and never had a chance to stop.
The Ashburnham woman received minor injuries. The Shirley man was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer for minor injuries.
