The following is an announcement submitted by the candidate, per the Framingham Source election policy. As per the policy, the statement is published below as submitted.
From my time advocating for higher education in Washington D.C. to Boston, advocating for those who were voiceless has always been an enormous passion of mine.
I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with youth in the city of Worcester in advancing their leadership and professional development skills.
I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching the Spanish Club, as an after school program.
I was born in Framingham but I’m blessed to come from Brazilian parents that have always acknowledged the importance of equal opportunity in education.
Growing up my mother was the coordinator of the bilingual program in Somerville and she constantly reminded me that education was of utmost importance in my growth and development as a woman but above all as a good, positive human being.
It is time for us as the city of Framingham to stand up and realize the importance of the children in our community.
Vote for me and you are voting for the progress and advancement of the children and youth of Framingham.
It’s time we realize that IT’S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS.
Mariana Dos Santos
School Committee Candidate
