Superintendent Appoints Nolan Interim Principal at McCarthy Elementary

FRAMINGHAM  – Tuesday, McCarthy Elementary Principal Matt Hanlon announced he was resigning as principal.

This morning, the Framingham Public Schools officially announced Assistant Principal Jean Nolan will be the Interim Principal of the school, with a search to take place in the fall.

Nolan was named McCarthy’s first-ever Assistant Principal at McCarthy Elementary in July 2012. Framingham Public Schools made the decision to add assistant principals to the elementary schools in 2012. Since then assistant principals have been added at all of the elementary schools.

Nolan, who previously worked at Fuller Middle School, has almost two decades of experience in the district.

Hanlon was appointed principal in May 2010.

Editor’s Note: In full transparency my daughter attended McCarthy Elementary School, and I served on the committee to hire Hanlon.
