FRAMINGHAM – McCarthy Elementary School Principal Matt Hanlon announced his resignation today, June 20, the last day of school for the 2016-17 school year.
“Every organization goes through periods of growth and change. Sometimes it is necessary to bring in fresh ideas and a new voice to lead that change. For this reason I am resigning my position as principal of the McCarthy School,” said Hanlon.
“I have been at McCarthy for the last fourteen years as both a teacher and administrator, and I have always been humbled being part of such a great community of students, staff, and families. I am hoping to be able to continue with the Framingham Public Schools in the capacity of an educator,” said Hanlon.
“In getting back to the classroom, I can once again focus on what inspired me from the beginning – teaching students,” said Hanlon.
“I want to thank all the members of the McCarthy community for their support during my time as principal. It truly was an honor. I am confident that the school will continue to thrive because of the leadership structures already in place,” said Hanlon.
Editor’s Note: In full transparency, I was PTO President and served on the Committee that hired Hanlon. My daughter attended McCarthy Elementary.
