FRAMINGHAM – Last night, the Framingham Firefighters IAFF Local 1652 held a Brew Fest at Angry Ham’s Grill to raise money for MDA.
MDA supports research and families suffering from the harmful effects of muscle-debilitating diseases so they can live longer and grow stronger.
Last night’s event, which featured beers, hard ciders, and alcohol from almost a dozen brewers, raised more than $7,500 for MDA Massachusetts.
Between the ticket sales and the raffles, the event raised $7,635, said Framingham firefighter Chris Jack, one of the organizers.
Attendees were treated to food from Angry’s Ham including crab cakes, coconut chicken, bacon-wrapped scallops, chicken satay and more. They also tasted brews from Lookout Farm, Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, Clown Shoes, Down the Road Beer Company, Flat Tire, Elysian Brewing, Harpoon and more.
The first-ever Brew Fest is just one of a handful of fundraisers the Framingham firefighters are hosting.
The firefighters, weather permitting, will conduct their annual boot drive on the streets of Framingham on Friday, July 8.
