The Framingham Unit of the League of Women Voters held its first organization meeting on Saturday, June 3 and elected its Board of Directors.

- Treasurer – Kathie McCarthy
- Membership Chair – Mike Cannon
The League also discussed the topics we will focus on for the next year, and at the top of the list was to facilitate debates and candidate’s nights for the upcoming elections as Framingham transitions from a town to a city.
Members also chose to address development/redevelopment in Framingham, mental health, civics education, and voter registration.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League of Women Voters does not endorse or oppose candidates for elected office.
The Framingham Unit is open to all residents of Framingham over the age of 16.
We welcome new members to be part of this active, vibrant, and important organization.
The next open meeting will be on Thursday, July 13 at 7pm, at the Costin Room at the Main Library.
