Weader has a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Nuclear Engineer degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served three years in the US Army as an officer nuclear weapons instructor.
He moved to Framingham in 1984 with his wife, Amy, and son James to take a job with the Yankee Atomic Electric Company. His son James graduated from Framingham High School in 1994.
Weader is now retired after 40 years engineering experience mostly in nuclear reactor fuel core analysis, core reload design and reactor core analysis computer code development.
Weader has been a Town Meeting Member since 1987, with a break from 1995 to 2007 to serve on the Framingham School Committee. He is currently Chair of the Town Meeting Standing Committee on Education, Clerk of the Capital Budget Committee and a member of the Building Committee for the Fuller school replacement project. He also serves as the Treasurer of Hoops and Homework.
Weader said “The City Council should protect our neighborhoods from intrusive development and adequately support our School system. It should strive to balance the power of the Mayor and check unreasonable Mayoral action.”
