James ‘Milt’ Patterson, 76, Former Hockey Player With Framingham Pics

FRAMINGHAM – James “Milt” Patterson, 76, a local resident for many years, died Wednesday May 31, 2017, at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick after a long illness.

Born in Perth Andover, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late James M. and Iva Geneva (Gee) Patterson.

A graduate of Framingham High School with the Class of 1959, he was co-captain of the ice hockey team and a stand out player.

He also played hockey for the semi-pro Framingham Pics out of Loring Arena.

He was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator for several area real estate developers.

He is survived by his children: Jeannine Bettencourt of Worcester, Lynn Granger of Ashland and Brian Patterson of New Hampshire; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his siblings: Keith Patterson of Medway, Joan Patterson of Ct., Dale Patterson of Upton, Debra O’Connor of Ashland, Pam Mulhall of Plymouth, and Donna Weidman of Ashland, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late: Jean Varney of Bellingham, Shirley Cohen of FL. and Michael Patterson of Framingham.

Visiting hours are Sunday June 4 from 3 to 5 p.m.p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue in Framingham.

A graveside service will take place Monday June 5 at 11 a.m.. at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St., Framingham.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Milt’s name be made to: the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA. 01701.
