NATICK – The creator of Collettey’s Cookies spoke at the 2017 MetroWest Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Leadership Conference on Friday morning, May 5.
Collette DiVitto, 26, gave an inspirational speech on becoming an entrepreneur. After multiple rejections for employment over three years, the woman, born with Down Syndrome, launched her own cookie company.
Her Amazing Cookie – a chocolate chip cookie with cinnamon – has gone viral and was even part of the Red Carpet at this year’s Oscars.
A dozen cookies, including shipping, is $28.95. The booth featuring her cookies was sold out within 30 minutes of her speech.
She spoke to about 100 women at the Chamber’s conference at the Verve Crowne Plaza in Natick, before heading to her sister’s graduation at Northeastern University that afternoon.
DiVitto plans to introduce a healthy breakfast cookie soon. It is made with oats, almonds, craisins and honey. And it is not made with white sugar, white flour, or butter.
She was the first of three inspirational speakers at the Conference in the morning, and a luncheon highlighting the Athena award and its women nominees.
