National Weather Service Issues Flood Watch For Framingham

BOSTON – The National Weather Service early this morning issued a flood watch for MetroWest, including Framingham.

The Flood Watch goes into effect at 2 p.m. and lasts until Saturday morning at 9.

A low-pressure system will pass west of New England tonight. This will spread widespread rain across the region with locally heavy downpours and widely scattered thunderstorms. The heaviest rain will fall from mid afternoon through tonight. Widespread 1 to 2 inch rain amounts

Widespread 1 to 2-inch rain amounts is expected. Rainfall may reach 2 to 3 inches in Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

There is potential for moderate urban and poor drainage flooding.

Rainfall rates up to 1 inch per hour are possible in downpours as well as any thunderstorms.

Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
