The following is a press release from the Milford Police:
As a result of the on-going investigation by Detectives from the Milford Police Department and District Attorney Joe Early, we have reviewed video images from several sources and determined that the Toyota Scion, Red in Color, WAS NOT the vehicle that struck the young boy.
Nevertheless, the operator and/or passengers of this vehicle may have seen the Jonathan in the area prior to the accident. We would appreciate it if they could contact the Milford Police at 508-473-1113.
On Monday, April 17, 2017, at 7:23 PM, Officer Mark Castiglione, the first officer to arrive on the scene of the fatality, was assigned to the Distracted Driver Enforcement Grant when he observed and stopped a Ford F150 Pickup Truck, Color Ruby Red. The occupants of the vehicle were cooperative and provided investigators with information concerning the events that occurred on Water Street. They voluntarily allowed the police to tow their vehicle to the Milford Police Headquarters where it was examined by Milford Police Detectives and Crime Scene Services from the Massachusetts State Police. The owner/occupants of the vehicle went home after being interviewed and their vehicle was released to them.
At approximately 10:51 PM, Detective Robert Pavia was alerted to the presence of a Chevy Traverse, Blue in Color in the neighborhood where the hit and run occurred. After speaking with the owner of the vehicle, they voluntarily came to the Milford Police Headquarters to be interviewed and they authorized the police to tow their vehicle to the Milford Police Headquarters to be examined by Milford Police Detectives and Crime Scene Services from the Massachusetts State Police. The owner/occupants of the vehicle went home after being interviewed and their vehicle was released to them.
The investigation continues. Milford Police Detectives are interested in finding the following vehicles and operators who were on Water Street on Sunday, April 16, 2017 between the time period of 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, the appearance of the vehicles are:
VEHICLE 1: 2010 Chevy Traverse, Dark Color
VEHICLE 2: 2015 or 2016 Nissan Rogue, Light Color
(Possibly Silver or Grey)
