Red Sox Home Opener Monday Afternoon

BOSTON – Monday, April 3 is the Red Sox home opener at historic Fenway Park, which just completed a $10 million upgrade.

The weather forecast is 50 degrees and sunny for  the 2:05 p.m. start.

The Sox will host the Pittsburgh Pirates, for only the third time in franchise history.

Hanscom Air Force Base will be the color guard for the game.

The Boston Children’s Chorus will sing the National Anthem.

There will be a fly over by two F-15C’s flown by the 104th Fighter Wing from Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield.

While there is no David Ortiz in the line-up, American League Cy Young winner Rick Porcello will take he mound for Boston.
