FRAMINGHAM – A day after a Framingham restaurant announced it would close on March 25, the state seized the restaurant.

The owners of O’Connell’s Pub, announced yesterday, March 15, the restaurant would close, on March 25.

Earlier this morning, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue seized the restaurant, for non payment of taxes.

The state  confirmed the seizure this afternoon.

But at 5:05 p.m., a spokesperson for Mass DOR emailed Framingham Source to say the seizure had been released.

O’Connell’s Pub has said it will be open tonight, tomorrow for St. Patrick’s Day and now through March 25, still.

O’Connell’s Pub, located at 700 Worcester Road in Framingham, opened in 2009.

The space was empty for a year before it became O’Connell’s Pub. But sadly several restaurants have been in that location including Asia, Buffet, Rainbow Buffet,  Blue Danube, East Coast Oyster Bar and Restaurant, Tony Roma’s, and Scioletti’s Italian Eatery.
