Jazz Ensemble Wins Gold Medal; Tarlin Wins MVP Award

READING – The Framingham High School Jazz Ensemble won a gold medal at the Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education’s Northeast District Senior Jazz

Festival at Reading Memorial High School Tuesday night, March 7.

The gold medal qualifies the high school’s jazz ensemble for the state finals on March 18 at Norwood High.

Three Framingham musicians were honored individually last night, too.

 Senior Eric Tarlin was awarded the Most Valuable Player award. He plays the alto saxophone.

Tarlin, Cesar Gray, who plays bass, and David Winters, who plays piano, were awarded outstanding musicianship awards.

The jazz ensemble is under the direction of Andy Jasinski.
