Framingham Frog Yan Breaks 17-Year-Old Swim Record To Win Backstroke Title

MILFORD – Chance Yan, broke a 17-year-old swim record on Sunday, to win the 50-yard backstroke at the A Regionals swim meet at Milford High School.

Yan, a freshman at Marian High, was swimming as part of the Framingham Parks & Recreation swim team on Sunday, March 5.

The Framingham Frog won the 50-yard backstroke race for 13-14 year olds in 26.88 seconds.

The old record was held by N. Vanncil in 2001, when he swam 27.07 seconds.

Justin Clark of Newton finished second on Sunday in 28.64 seconds, with Will Mungovan of Wellesley third in 29.15 seconds.

Yan also finished third in the 100-yard individual medley for his age range on Sunday.
