FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys basketball team won its third game of the season Tuesday night.
The Flyers defeated the Wildcats of Milton High at home 77-68.
Framingham High’s basketball team is now 3-3 on the season, and 3-2 in the Bay State Conference.
“We jumped out to a 20-5 lead in the first quarter getting steals off our defense, and finishing in transition,” said head coach Ben Torbert.
“Milton is a talented offensive team, that can score in bunches, and they eventually got the game back tied by hitting” 3-pointers, said Torbert.
The game was “68-67 with about 2 minutes left, and we closed the the game on a 9-1 run,” said Torbert.
Senior captain Jack DiConza had 20 points and 5 rebounds in the victory.
Senior captain Aaron Jaynes scored 8 points in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the Flyers.
Senior Gio Aga netted a dozen points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the win for Framingham.
“We maintained our composure late and were able to close out a tight, competitive game down the stretch,” said Torbert. “Aaron Jaynes had a huge night and really closed it out for us with some clutch free throws and layups in crunch time.”
Next up for the Flyers are another set of Wildcats. The Flyers will travel to Weymouth High on Thursday night. Tip off at 6:30.
