FRAMINGHAM – New Indian restaurant to open in Framingham this weekend.
Godvari, which says it is the fastest-growing Indian restaurant chain in the United States, plans to open its newest location on Route 9 east in the former space occupied by Acapulco’s, which closed last November.
Godavari is opening its brand-new restaurant on Sankranthi.
The owner of Southern Foods Inc, came before Selectmen last night to get approval for a license. Selectmen unanimously voted 4-0 to grant the license.
The restaurant, will open for now without an alcohol license, but plans to apply for one later in 2017.
The rush for opening is due to the Indian celebration on Saturday, January 14, which will be the grand opening.
The restaurant chain, which opened its first location in Woburn, specializes in Southern Indian cuisine.
Godvari specializes in yderabadi Biryani, 100 varities of dosas, Indo Chinese specialities and other Indian flavored dishes.”
Godvari is also in the process of launching a food truck too.
