She was the wife of 56 years to the late Gordon E. Hopper who died in 1997.
Born February 15, 1916 and raised in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Canavan) Hanley.
She was a graduate of Framingham High School class of 1933.
Her career included Dennison Mfg, bookkeeper at Sunshine Dairy and Blades Construction, and a Baypath aid for the elderly. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing the organ and harmonica, and devoted her life to her family.She was an original member of the Framingham Heart Study, and recruitment volunteer for the program.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Hopper and his wife Delores of Holderness, NH, Michael Hopper of Framingham, Gerald Hopper and his wife Anne of Framingham, her son-in-law Joseph P. Connolly of Framingham, 5 grandchildren, Kevin Hopper of NY, Keith Hopper of Newton, Kathleen Connolly Randazzo of Bellingham, Molly Connolly Butler of Shrewsbury, Erin Connolly Flaherty of Upton and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Rose Clementi of Ashland, Edward Hanley of Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Patricia Connolly who died in 2005 and the sister of the late Mary Vermette, Robert, John, William, Richard and James Hanley, Rita Drapeau and Margaret Hanley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, April 21 at 9 a.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. in Framingham, followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St. (Rt. 126) Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Framingham.
